Things to See

Bardsey Island - Isle of the Saints

Bardsey Island The Bardsey Island crossing is a 4 mile sea journey by licensed boat from Porth Meudwy, near Aberdaron.

Weather and tides permitting, we can arrange a trip that allows 4 hours to explore this unique and magical island. If you relish the adventure, we can also arrange for self-catering accommodation in one of the 19th century farmhouses on the Island.

Beautiful sandy beaches
"A great draft of Nature" wrote R.S Thomas (poet & Vicar of Aberdaron) of this old, wild, sea-facing land with its few people "all castaways on a sea of grass".

Cliffs on the north coastThis is National Trust Heritage Coast, with its profusion of wild flowers, butterflies, seals and dolphins.

As open grass heathland and mountain gives way to rugged sea cliffs and coves, so prergrine, kestrel, stonechat and little owl give way to chough, puffin and guillemot in the sky above.

To witness the Spring and Autumn migrations on Bardsey is a truly spellbinding experience.
